FAQs

Got a Question?
You'll (Hopefully) Find the Answer Right Here!

Where is ACE on the Camel Trail?

The Atlantic Coast Express open-air cafe is located in a beautiful spot halfway along the Camel Trail between Padstow and Wadebridge.

You can find us at Penquean Quarry on The Camel Trail, you have to travel along the trail to get to us, there is no direct access.

We serve delicious barista coffee, crepes with sweet and savoury fillings, Cornish ice cream, locally baked cakes, fresh smoothies and yummy treats galore.

When Are You Open?

We open every day 9.30ish from Easter until the end of October. Please check our google profile/listing for our actual opening and closing times – these are always kept up-to-date based on the weather and season.  Note that our coffee machine and crepe plates are turned-off 30 minutes before our advertised closing time but we will still be serving ice creams, cold drinks, cups of tea and cakes.

When Are the Supper Clubs and How Can I Book?

There are no supper clubs currently planned for 2026 as I continue the search for chefs who would like to collaborate with ACE.  Do get in touch if you are a chef who is looking for a unique place to showcase and share your food talents with our visitors.

Do You Take Cards or Cash?

We take both cards and cash. If you choose to give us a tip it all goes to our local Foodbanks in Wadebridge and Padstow.

Are You Open on Rainy Days?

Whilst we try to remain open in most weathers, keep an eye on our google profile/listing and our social media platforms for the most up-to-date information on opening times.

Are You Wheelchair Friendly?
The cafe area itself is flat and the hatch is accessible for wheelchair users and we’ll always take the time to come out, if needed, to hand over any treats from us.
We advise that each individual assesses the Camel Trail, the capabilities of their wheelchair, and their own specific requirements before setting out.
What is the Best Way to Get to the Atlantic Coast Express?

That all depends on you! Either ride a horse, walk or cycle from either the Padstow or Wadebridge start of the Camel Trail. You’ll find us approximately 2.5 miles along the trail. If you’d rather come by water, cruise along the Camel estuary in your boat, canoe or paddleboard and look out for our red and green ACE deckchairs to guide you. If you’re not feeling that energetic then you can park at Old Town Cove (PL27 7QL) and it’s just a ten minute walk (towards Wadebridge) to find us.

Do You Cater for Allergies?

If you have a specific intolerance just let us know and we’ll do our very best to accommodate you!

Are You Dog-Friendly?

As we are an open-air cafe your four-legged friends are just as welcome as you are!  We also have doggy refreshments available.

Do You Recycle? Can I Bring a Keep Cup for Filling Up?

A big YES to keep cups!
We
have boasted green and socially-conscious business credentials right from the very start. Protecting this Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) whilst celebrating its rich heritage is of paramount importance, and the focus is on treading lightly and respectfully in everything we do.

Do You Offer Take-Away?

We supply everything in take-away vessels which are compostable and recyclable.
